Moving to Yacht Purser from Chief Steward/ess or Interior Manager

Mandatory Qualifications
All candidates must have STCW Basic Safety Training (A-VI/I), with the additional PDSD Training.
Recommended Qualifications
Option 1) GUEST Yacht Purser Program and GUEST Advanced Leadership – ultimately leading to the IAMI GUEST Yacht Purser CoC.
Option 2) Experience in Yacht Purser duties on board plus GUEST Advanced Administration & Management, Human Resources (HR), and Foundation Leadership.
Recommended Experience
Experience onboard with crew and guest logistics, crew travel, onboarding, and repatriation. Knowledge of accounting, itinerary planning, and familiarity with maritime legislation and legalities. Ideally, candidates will have experience with event planning and execution thereof, as well as other concierge services.
Notes
Degree or vocational qualifications in relevant sectors such as accounting, event management, business studies, and HR would be valuable.
Shoreside industry experience and roles can transfer very well into that of the Yacht Purser- including personal assistants, project managers, and event planners.
Useful knowledge and skills include using specialist computer software such as Sage and Voly. Additionally, accounting, budgeting, event management, and PR skills are encouraged.
